Horizontal slat fences Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania

Horizontal slat fences Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania

Horizontal slat fences, a design trend gaining traction across the picturesque neighborhood of Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania, encapsulate both aesthetic appeal and functionality. These structures form barriers that are as effective in demarcating property boundaries as they are in contributing to the suburban landscape's visual charm.

In essence, horizontal slat fences comprise parallel wooden or metal strips laid out horizontally rather than vertically. This orientation imparts a contemporary flair to properties, distinguishing them from the more traditional picket or privacy fence designs prevalent in earlier decades. The clean lines and modern look of these fences harmonize with various architectural styles found throughout Crum Lynne, from quaint bungalows to stately colonials.

One of the less obvious benefits of horizontal slat fencing is its potential for customization. Homeowners can adjust slat spacing to achieve desired levels of privacy without entirely obstructing breezes or natural light—a balance often sought after in residential areas. Furthermore, while vertical fences might appear taller and more imposing, horizontal lines tend to draw the eye outward, making small yards seem larger and inviting an open-concept feel into outdoor spaces.

Durability is another consideration when discussing horizontal slat fences in Crum Lynne's climate. Choosing appropriate materials resistant to the seasonal weather variations—hot, humid summers and cold winters—is crucial for long-term maintenance and structural integrity. Cedar and redwood are popular choices for their resistance to decay, but vinyl and composite options also offer longevity with minimal upkeep.

The installation of a horizontal slat fence is not without its challenges; it requires precision to ensure that each board remains perfectly level over varied terrain—a task that may be daunting for a DIY enthusiast without advanced carpentry skills. Henceforth, many residents opt for professional installation services offered by local contractors specializing in custom fencing solutions.

In summary, embracing horizontal slat fencing within Crum Lynne neighborhoods reflects a shift towards modernity while respecting community values centered around home pride and curb appeal. As this elegant fencing option continues to spread throughout Delaware County's verdant landscapes, it stands as testimony to the area's openness towards blending tradition with innovation—a hallmark of this charming Pennsylvanian enclave.

Angi provided me with several contractors, I received estimates but chose Philz Landscaping (even after coming in higher) because he satisfied with his estimate and start date our fervent desire to complete the project before winter set in. Alex, Javier set the example of professionalism in setting up the area to remove fencing and gate, installed vinyl fence with double gate (assisted by Carlos), removed all debris, left my yard spotless and we are extremely satisfied with the new fence and gate. Questions we had were answered (Helena, Phil) promptly and Alex, Javier went above and beyond ensuring my wife’s concerns were taken care of; I want again to Thank the team at Philz Landscaping and recommend highly to perform your project.

Had Phil and his workers come by my house to work on the backyard in May this year. Eliminate weeds, regrade soil and replant grass seed. 158 feet worth of backyard which he estimated $1600 to do. There was a hiccup with his office and scheduling and he wasn't even aware of the set date in mid-May. He rescheduled for the week after and took off $100 for inconvenience. His crew shows up and does the job and weeks after, grass grew....but not fully in corners of the yard. I called him back, voicemail immediately. Got in touch with his office and they said they would pass the message. His response times are atrocious and I told him about the patches in the grass. He says "no problem I'll send guys to evaluate and re-seed". They show up and do the job again. By mid-July, weeds are growing in very strong and grass is dying at exceedingly high rate despite me watering. I called him back and he says "that's odd, I'll come by this afternoon or tomorrow" in September when I finally get a hold of him. He never shows up or responds to texts or further calls. The photos below are post-lawn work with visible patches and weeds. I had to spend additional monies on top soil, grass seed and water to correct the loss of 50% of the lawn!! If you want an overpriced job not done right, Phil is your guy!!

Philz Landscaping built 2 patios on my property. One is flagstone and the other is pavers with a retaining wall. Both are absolutely beautiful. Working with Phil and his team has been a great experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliability, quality, and reasonable pricing.
