Shadowbox fences Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania

Shadowbox fences in Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania evoke a distinct suburban aesthetic that marries privacy with aesthetics. Often referred to as "neighbor-friendly" fencing, shadowbox designs feature alternating panels on either side of the central supporting rails. This alternating pattern ensures that no direct line of sight is apparent through the fence from any angle, granting inhabitants a sense of seclusion without erecting an impenetrable barrier.

Residential areas in Crum Lynne appreciate the shadowbox design for its airflow properties. Unlike solid fences that block wind entirely, the space between the staggered boards allows gentle breezes to permeate. This feature is particularly beneficial during Pennsylvania's warmer months when homeowners cherish a refreshing gust amidst humid conditions.

Aesthetically, shadowbox fences blend harmoniously with Crum Lynne's diverse architectural styles. The semi-private nature affords glimpses of well-tended gardens and manicured lawns while maintaining enough coverage to hide unsightly elements such as trash bins or compost piles.

Durability is another hallmark of these structures in Crum Lynne. Crafted typically from cedar or pressure-treated pine, they withstand fluctuating temperatures and precipitation inherent to Pennsylvania's climate. Proper maintenance involving periodic staining or sealing can extend their lifespan even further, ensuring they remain both functional and visually appealing for years.

The community aspect should not be understated either; since both sides of a shadowbox fence present an identical view, neighbors do not quarrel over who receives the more 'finished' side. This equal-sided approach fosters neighborly relations and contributes to a cohesive neighborhood appearance.

In summary, Shadowbox fences are more than mere boundary markers in Crum Lynne—they embody a compromise between solitude and openness while enhancing local charm and ensuring lasting resilience against time and weather alike.

We cannot say enough concerning Philz Landscape. One call and I connected with Pat. He met with us for a project which entailed removal of a partial cinder block porch with iron poles and remodeled an entire porch. We are pleased with the work performed. We found found that Pat was a man of his word and committed to pleasing us with minor finishes. I would highly recommend this company. Sincerely, Ricky and Donna L Jones

Angi provided me with several contractors, I received estimates but chose Philz Landscaping (even after coming in higher) because he satisfied with his estimate and start date our fervent desire to complete the project before winter set in. Alex, Javier set the example of professionalism in setting up the area to remove fencing and gate, installed vinyl fence with double gate (assisted by Carlos), removed all debris, left my yard spotless and we are extremely satisfied with the new fence and gate. Questions we had were answered (Helena, Phil) promptly and Alex, Javier went above and beyond ensuring my wife’s concerns were taken care of; I want again to Thank the team at Philz Landscaping and recommend highly to perform your project.

Had Phil and his workers come by my house to work on the backyard in May this year. Eliminate weeds, regrade soil and replant grass seed. 158 feet worth of backyard which he estimated $1600 to do. There was a hiccup with his office and scheduling and he wasn't even aware of the set date in mid-May. He rescheduled for the week after and took off $100 for inconvenience. His crew shows up and does the job and weeks after, grass grew....but not fully in corners of the yard. I called him back, voicemail immediately. Got in touch with his office and they said they would pass the message. His response times are atrocious and I told him about the patches in the grass. He says "no problem I'll send guys to evaluate and re-seed". They show up and do the job again. By mid-July, weeds are growing in very strong and grass is dying at exceedingly high rate despite me watering. I called him back and he says "that's odd, I'll come by this afternoon or tomorrow" in September when I finally get a hold of him. He never shows up or responds to texts or further calls. The photos below are post-lawn work with visible patches and weeds. I had to spend additional monies on top soil, grass seed and water to correct the loss of 50% of the lawn!! If you want an overpriced job not done right, Phil is your guy!!

Philz Landscaping built 2 patios on my property. One is flagstone and the other is pavers with a retaining wall. Both are absolutely beautiful. Working with Phil and his team has been a great experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliability, quality, and reasonable pricing.

Yes, shadowbox fences provide privacy while still allowing some light and air to pass through. They are less susceptible to wind damage compared to solid fences because they offer less wind resistance.
The cost varies depending on the material quality, height of the fence, and length required. On average, homeowners might expect to pay anywhere from $15 to $35 per linear foot for materials and installation. Its best to get quotes from local contractors for more accurate pricing.
Common choices include pressure-treated pine, cedar, or redwood due to their durability and resistance to rot and pests. Cedar is particularly prized for its natural insect repellant properties and aesthetic appeal.
Most likely yes. Fence installation usually requires a permit from the local municipality or county authorities. Homeowners should check with Ridley Township or Delaware County authorities (whichever has jurisdiction) for specific regulations and permit requirements before proceeding with installation.
